Pladio 1.4 — Join the Beta (with Bug Hunting Rewards)

Pladio's biggest update yet is coming. Be the first to test it — and earn free Premium for finding bugs.

Pladio 1.4: The Premium Launch

After shipping Pladio 1.3 with the macOS Menu Bar MiniPlayer, AirPlay support, and dozens of improvements, I'm now working on the most important release yet: Pladio 1.4.

This update introduces Pladio's first Premium subscription features alongside new free additions. It's a milestone I want to get right — and that's where you come in.

I'm looking for 100 beta testers to join the Pladio 1.4 TestFlight program, starting in April 2026.

What's Coming in Version 1.4

New Free Features

  • Home Screen Widgets — Quick access to your favorite stations and playback controls right from your Home Screen

  • Shortcuts Support — Automate your radio experience with Siri Shortcuts

  • CarPlay Widget — Quick-access station widget on your CarPlay dashboard

New Premium Features

  • Audio Equalizer — Fine-tune bass, mid, and treble to your taste

  • In-App Volume Control — Dedicated volume slider independent of system volume

  • Quick Resume Widget — One tap to resume your last station

  • watchOS App — Pladio on your Apple Watch

  • Sleep Timer Presets — Save and recall your favorite sleep timer configurations

  • Station Alarm (Wake-Up) — Wake up to your favorite radio station

  • tvOS App — Pladio on your Apple TV

Important: All features from Pladio 1.3 remain completely free and ad-free. Nothing that was free before is being paywalled. Premium features are genuinely new additions, and I will continue to expand the free feature set in future versions.

The Bug Hunting Program 🐛

This isn't just a “please test my app” request. I'm running a structured Bug Hunting Program where every confirmed bug report earns you points — and points convert to free Pladio Premium subscription time.

How It Works

Every bug you find earns points based on its severity:

  • Confirmed Bug (Normal): 1 point

  • Confirmed Bug (Critical — crash, data loss, audio stops): 3 points

  • Duplicate of an existing bug: 0.5 points

  • Detailed reproduction steps included: +0.5 bonus

  • Actionable feature feedback: 0.5 points

Your Reward

  • 🦉 Bug Spotter (3+ points): 3 months Premium free

  • 🔍 Bug Hunter (8+ points): 6 months Premium free

  • 🏆 Bug Slayer (15+ points): 12 months Premium free

Yes, even duplicate bug reports count (at 0.5 points). I'd rather you report something that was already found than stay silent. Different perspectives often reveal new details, and the number of reports helps me prioritize what to fix first.

Rewards are distributed as Apple Offer Codes after Pladio 1.4 ships on the App Store.

Full Transparency

Your points are tracked publicly. Each Upvoty post shows the points it earned, and the Bug Hunters Leaderboard displays cumulative scores, tiers, and rankings — updated biweekly. No guessing, no hidden formulas.

What Is Pladio?

If you're not familiar with Pladio yet — it's an internet radio app built with Swiss engineering standards:

  • 40,000+ radio stations from around the world

  • Automatic song recognition — identifies what's playing on any station

  • Apple Music integration — save songs you discover to your library

  • CarPlay support — native CarPlay templates for safe in-car use

  • iCloud sync — favorites, recents, and settings across all your devices

  • 20 languages — switch languages on the fly, no restart needed

  • Privacy-focused — no ads, no user tracking, EU-hosted analytics

  • macOS Menu Bar MiniPlayer — control playback from the menu bar

  • AirPlay support — stream to any AirPlay device

How to Join the Beta

I have 100 TestFlight slots available for iPhone, iPad, and Mac.

After signing up, you'll receive a TestFlight invitation when the first beta build is ready (expected April 2026).

What I'm Looking For

The most valuable testers are those who:

  • Use Pladio regularly (or are excited to start)

  • Test on multiple devices (iPhone, iPad, Mac, CarPlay, Apple Watch)

  • Take a few minutes to report issues when they find them

  • Try edge cases: no internet, Bluetooth disconnects, phone calls during playback

How to Report Bugs

All bug reports go through the Pladio Feedback Portal at feedback-portal.pladio.app. You can also use TestFlight's built-in screenshot feedback as a supplement.

A good bug report includes:

  1. What happened vs. what you expected

  2. Steps to reproduce the issue

  3. Your device and OS version (e.g., iPhone 15 Pro, iOS 18.3)

  4. The build number (visible in TestFlight)

  5. A screenshot or screen recording if possible

The full feature roadmap and feedback portal have all the details. Track your progress on the Bug Hunters Leaderboard.

Timeline

When What Now Sign up for the beta April 2026 First TestFlight build drops. Bug Hunting begins! April – June 2026 Ongoing beta builds with fixes and new features After App Store Release Points tallied. Premium Offer Codes distributed.

The program runs exclusively during the TestFlight phase. Once Pladio 1.4 is on the App Store, the Bug Hunting Program concludes and rewards are sent out. If it works well, I plan to run a similar program for version 1.5 and beyond.
